Ridgefield, Connecticut. Completed in 2017.

P H Architects was given the challenge of implementing a Californian style design to a beautiful home in Ridgefield, CT. This entailed major interior and exterior renovations and additions to facilitate a warm, open atmosphere. The clients wanted to absorb the outdoor scenery, while entertaining indoors.

In keeping with the open design concept, we incorporated Marvin lift and slide doors for a panoramic view of the pool and spa. A custom awning with a deluxe lighting system was used to not only control the sun and weather, but also to maximize the landscape views with a vanishing waterfall feature. Copper roof and gutters created the finishing touches of a true California dream home.

We continued with the concept of bringing the outdoors inside with the breakfast/dining room addition. Exposed vaulted wood ceilings and large windows and doors were used throughout. The dining table was custom designed to fit the space appropriately, along with a fieldstone fireplace with bluestone mantel.

We completely renovated the kitchen with an open viewing area of the outdoors as well. The space contains naturally stained white oak cabinets and quartzite countertops. It also features additional china hutches with full spanning library ladders. These full height douglas fir cabinets maximize storage and contain custom lighting for better viewing purposes.
