Beach Condo I

Palm Island in Cape Haze, Florida. Completed in 2012.

PHA was hired to design and oversee the total interior renovation of an existing 1980’s 2-story beach condo on Palm Island in Cape Haze, Florida. Having worked in this area before, we were adept to the various challenges on this Golf Coast Island. The clients wanted to introduce a more modern Tropical style, instead of an Old Floridian style. Therefore, we created a design parte that we labeled “Hawaiian Tropical.” We incorporated natural woods with clear coat finishes in both millwork and wall fenestrations. This is similar to various parts of Hawaii that integrate Koa & Tropical Ash wood in their design. This style was also implemented into the interior finishes and furniture selection.

Furthermore, we opened up unfinished attic spaces and created a kid’s bedroom attached to a Jack-n-Jill bathroom, along with storage space for all the client’s beach goods. At the end of construction, the clients owned a very unique and attractive 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom 2-story condo that flows well, has great beach views, with an unparalleled essence about it upon entry.
