P H Architects was selected to design an exquisite, four-bedroom private residence on a scenic Lake in New England. The Owners wanted a traditional Adirondack-styled lake house whose topography rolls directly into the surrounding aqueous atmosphere.
The exterior of the house reflects the great camps of the Adirondack Mountains with the use of live edge siding, native fieldstone and log work for the columns and brackets. We designed an all-wood interior with log work columns and railings. The balustrades were custom designed and crafted to fit the unique design of the log stair treads. We drew from many of the craftsmen in the Adirondack region to bring authenticity to these elements, which are the hallmark of the great camp style.
The kitchen conveys an open, rustic flair with modern day amenities of granite countertops and Wolf appliances. Each bedroom and bathroom was meticulously designed with a view of the lake, epitomizing refined lake living. The oversized waterfront deck and lower level patio with kitchen and jacuzzi make the backyard the ultimate entertaining experience on a warm, sunny day.
The overall project met with arduous regulatory approvals. We were involved with the design and reconstruction of the lake wall and a new dock on the waterfront. Here we continued to reinforce the aesthetic of the Adirondack charm and the ideal lakefront dream home.
